Flour City Hockey Club players took the ice on Thursday for the club's inaugural Pride game.
The event was an official part of the Pride 2022 Community Events presented by ROC Pride Collective and raised $1,107 to help support Trillium Health.
The game was open to all LGBTQ+ players, allies, friends and family members. Players were divided into two teams which skated for three 15-minute periods. The "white" team defeated the "colors" team 6-1 in a back-and-forth contest featuring players across a wide spectrum of ability and experience.
Chloe Marshall and Tyler Buss were awarded game MVP honors for their respective teams.
Net proceeds from player registrations were donated to Trillium Health; along with donations collected at the door and contributions by event sponsors. Players also added their signatures to a game jersey that will be given as a token of support to a Brockport family whose home was recently vandalized for displaying a Pride flag.
Thanks to all who played and came out to cheer. We had a great time and can't wait to do it again next year.
