We believe that a diverse and inclusive culture is good for the hockey community. We welcome players regardless of skill level, gender, race, sexual orientation, or other barriers to inclusion.
Players who skate with us can be confident in knowing they are part of a supportive and welcoming community. Our aim is to bring people together through their shared enjoyment of the sport.
We also plan to partner with various groups in our community to connect with players from different backgrounds through special events, friendly competition, and volunteer opportunities.
Groups we hope to partner with in 2021 include:
- Rochester Pride Hockey – A hockey club in Rochester, N.Y., founded in an effort to provide ice hockey programming to the LGBTQIA community and its allies. While this group is on official hiatus currently, our hope is to offer members an alternative place to play.
- Rochester Special Hockey – An organization that specializes in providing training in the game of ice hockey for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Rochester Sled Hockey – A competitive sled hockey team based in Rochester, NY. Sled Hockey puts players with and without disabilities in a sled on the ice for fun and competitive play.
- Genesee Valley Youth Hockey Club – A program of the City of Rochester that gives city children ages 6-12 free access to the sport of hockey.
